Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 11, 2026
Introduction
Emoji Music Bingo ("the App") is a free, ad-supported trivia game. This privacy policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.
Data We Collect
Information You Provide
- Player name. When you first open the App, you choose a display name. This name is stored on your device and on our server so it can appear on public leaderboards. You can change your name at any time in Settings.
Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous identifier. The App creates a random, anonymous user ID through Firebase Authentication. No email address, phone number, or password is required. This ID is used solely to associate your leaderboard scores with your device and to prevent duplicate submissions.
- Leaderboard data. When you complete a board, your player name, completion time, board identifier, game mode, and date are saved to our server (Google Cloud Firestore) and displayed on the in-app leaderboard.
- Local preferences. Settings such as sound effects, vibration, and board progress are stored locally on your device using browser storage. This data is never transmitted to any server.
- Analytics and crash data. The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. This helps us understand how the App is used and fix issues. No personally identifiable information is included in this data.
- Advertising data. The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. For more information, see Google's advertising privacy policy.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal files
- Payment or financial information
How We Use Your Data
- Display your name and scores on in-app leaderboards
- Prevent duplicate or fraudulent leaderboard submissions
- Improve the App through anonymous analytics
- Diagnose and fix crashes
- Serve advertisements
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Your data may be processed by the following third-party services, which operate under their own privacy policies:
Data Retention
- Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely so that historical scores remain available.
- Anonymous user IDs are retained as long as the App is installed on your device. Uninstalling the App removes your local data; server-side leaderboard entries associated with your previous ID will remain but cannot be linked back to you.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your Choices
- Change your name. Open Settings and tap "Change" next to your player name.
- Reset your data. Clearing the App's data or reinstalling it will remove all local preferences and generate a new anonymous ID.
- Ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
